The DIAGRAM consortium performs large-scale studies to characterize the genetic basis of type 2 diabetes, primarily focusing on samples of European descent.
Experiment summary
The DIAGRAM 1000G GWAS meta-analysis (Stage 1) was published by Scott et al. (see citation above). GWAS data were included from 18 studies, comprising a total of 26,676 T2D cases and 132,532 control participants. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms were imputed for both autosomes and the X chromosome using the all ancestries 1000 Genomes Project (1000G) reference panel (1,092 individuals from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas [March, 2012 release]). The analysis includes associations with T2D and, for 15 of the 18 studies, associations with T2D adjusted for BMI.
