Experiment summary

This study analyzed genome-wide associations with albuminuria in 382,500 individuals of European ancestry from the UK Biobank. The concentration of albumin in urine is associated with many cardiometabolic diseases. Mendelian randomization performed in this study, using the GWAS results available in the CVDKP, suggests that albuminuria may influence cardiometabolic disease via its effects on blood pressure.
